Where to advertise?

My horse is currently advertised on H&H, Horsemart and Equine Exchange. Am also going to add him to Horsequest and Horse Hunter.

Are there any others people frequently use when horse shopping? Apart from Horse Deals - I refuse to use them for personal reasons...

On the other side of the coin, if you're recently advertised or sold a horse, from where did you get the best response?

I understand that this is a bad time of year but this sale is urgent, so please let me know if I've missed any particularly popular sites... appreciated

I put Toby on Horsemart, Horsequest and the PC website at the end of September and have only had 2 phone calls - literally!

I have just put him on H&H and will see what happens. My instructor told me to get him on there now but that if he doesn't sell then to leave it until February as no-one will be buying in December (unless it's for a Christmas present) and no-one buys in January either.

So it might be worth bearing that in mind.

Always used Horsequest and had loads of phone calls - always sold for asking price....

maybe re-jig your ad, re-think photos... haven't seen either but if you're not getting the phone calls, then you're not getting the message across!

I hadn't, simply due to not wanting to attract the wrong buyer. He is... shall we say... complicated. I got the impression those mags were more for the leisure/RC rider (although please correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't read any of them for 5 or 6 years!)

How about Project horses in that case - i bought my horse from there and it was a very favourable method as Ed also has a few issues, mainly, he's hateful lol

Oh yes, he's on there too! All of the calls/e-mails I've had from there have been "can I have him for free please, I have no money but I'll give him a good home" - yeah, no.

Although at this rate...

LOL I have to laugh, that was me!! I shouldn't have been browsing and I did and I got talking to his owner and we gelled and she let me take him on loan with a view and I faffed about getting the money together and paid her (while she waited patiently all the time) and that was almost a year ago

But that said, if you need the money, then its no use to you whatsoever.

Oh these weren't loans with a view to buy, I would consider that. Just people (mainly teenagers) wanting a freebie to play Parelli with.
