Okay so I obviously know its not the right time of the year, but we've just lost one of our sheep and our other sheep has the goats but she's pretty lonely:(

You probably won't get any 'lambs' this time of year, very old lambs possibly, or sheep. If there are any local farmers or family farms approach them and see if they have any left over stock, or even older sheep they want to get rid of. Failing that are there any livestock markets near you?
Sorry to hear you lost one of them, when I lost one of mine it only took me a week to get another. I just tried to spend as much time as poss with the remaining sheep. Hopefully you will find one soon.

what you are looking for is a 'store lamb' - one that was born this year but will be kept and fattened over the winter rather than sent to slaughter now

These are usually bought up in lots and kept by people who dont necessarily breed sheep themselves and kept on land that you'd not normally see sheep on (ie the field waits for the store lambs most of the year)

So look for a field with lots of lambs and see if you can find out who owns them

alternatively you could buy an older ewe from a breeder/farmer

where abouts in central scotland are you TSZ??

Lanark market has a sheep sales regularly google Lawrie and symington lanark market and you will get a list of dates pleanty of our local farmers take their sheep there to be sold on. :)

Thanks guys! Not near Lanark:( there used to be the mart at Perth which isn't really to far away but think that's closed now:( thanks will ask the local farmer and see what he says!

Poll Dorsets & dorset horns lamb from september onwards & there are some flocks in Scotland ,they may even have some orphans ,I will look through my flock book to see if I can find anyone
