Where to buy good saddle bags/panniers????

Hi,
I'd like to get a really nice bag to take on long hacks, a pannier perhaps.
Does anyone have any advice? Leather, Nylon, Canvas etc.... in front of saddle or behind. Something to fit a light picnic and drink would be nice.
I've seen the Robinson and Shires ones but wondered if there are any even better?

I've got the Shires ones, they're pretty good, but I've no idea about any other ones, sorry!
