I struggle to get the motivation to set up the trot poles at our yard as they are the full size wooden ones and with my bad back and natural lazy tendancies I can never be bothered to get them out and put them away again, they are always in the jumping paddock and it means many trips and takes about 30 mins just to set up a couple of sets.
I have seen these advertised and was wondering if anyone had used them and do you think they are big enough to use as trot poles for a horse?

If you only want poles for trot poles, not to actually jump then DONT get round ones. Pop down to local timber merchant and get lengths of squre timber. These will be much cheaper and wont roll out of position so easily as round poles do.

At 6ft 6in wide they will be plenty big enough, it says you can fill with sand so they will not move too much. The only problem I can see is that they may not be very strong and if you are on a yard you may have problems with others using them and possibly breaking them which means storing them away somewhere.

I think I'll ask YO if I could use square timber poles, painted. She has the half circle wooden poles to mark out dressage arena but we're not aloud to use those!
How much would they work out to buy 6ft 6 timber?
