haveing just found out that im preggers again :p iv made the hard desision to send the horse i have on loan back as i simply wont do him justice and it wont do him any good sitting in a field waiting for me for a year :(. so i have decided to go out on a whim and buy a youngster that will wait untill after babys born to be broken in (but we still have plenty of bonding time befor hand)
so im just wondering if anyone knows of any good dealers / breeders? i know of tom dunbar but im wanting something thats been handled a fair bit befor.
by cheap i mean £700 at the most
by young i mean foal to 4 years
and im not to fussy about type to be honest

thank you in advance

havent tryed scotads yet, will look in a sec.
im not aloud to the sales as i will end up with the scabbiest, saddest looking horse there  im too soft

Yeah I'm the same .Our yard owner came back with 3 colts as the mares and fillies all sold. Colts were going to end up wih meat man she got them for very very little. Is turloch stables (I think thats what they are called) they are good and have a variety of price limits, Ron Brady? (again think thats his name.

They both have a good name up here

i wouldnt bypass tom dunbar.my sister has bought a few of him.they have all been very easily backed.tom usually lets his children handle or back them.he has plenty to choose from, and he will happily exchange for something else if you are not happy,or there are any health issues.you could by three or four here for the same price as other mentioned dealers prices!

Tom normally has some lovely and previously handled youngsters in... You need to be fast though as they are often snapped up pretty quickly by my yard owner :o

If you know what you are looking for then I wouldn't bypass Tom! My YO has a couple of youngsters in just now that have been handled and some are lightly backed, not sure if this is what you would want though? If you are interested please PM me and I can put you in touch with her.

My lovely little mare came from Tom as an unbacked rising 3yr old and she was well handled and an absolute sweetheart to back and bring on.

Have you actually been to see this youngster?

The organisation is registered not-for-profit it is not a registered charity.

As I understand it if you are no longer able to keep the horse it does not belong to you ie returns to the organisation, and you will lose any financial stake you have in him.

Have a look at the "horsey stuff for sale scotland" page on facebook, there's a few cob youngsters for sale on there (as well as other youngsters) for your budget as far as I remember. I think a lady called Caryl Miller on that page has some for sale. I also saw a seller selling 3 for £400 each on adtrader a couple of weeks ago too.

I was looking myself recently for a field companion on a similar budget which is why I have seen some!

yes iv been to meet him :) i know that if anything happend i would loose any financial stake i have in him but i am fine with that, its the same if you adopt from world horse welfair, at the end of the day im not looking to make any money, just to have fun and maby do a bit of showing :D
thanks for all the replys
