Where to find a companion horse?

I need to find a companion for my chap and would you believe it I can find nothing! Does not need to be rideable so I assumed rescue centres would be good but most on offer need restricted grazing which doesn't fit what I need. Any ideas where I can look - Kent/Sussex area. Of course any suggestions please pm if you prefer.

I may know of a TB mare (lives out) if that is any good.

My friend is trying to put her in foal but it doesn't seem to be working. She has a spavin so not being ridden.

She is in East Sussex.

Although I'd like to find a horse in Kent, I think I'll have to look further afield as my options are a bit slim locally!
