Where to find a Loan Horse?

We are getting there... I may soon be able to sort out my mare and grass livery, and may soon be able to look for a loan horse.

I am trying to see whether I can get a paddock next to my mare, so over summer the horse may have to be out 24/7 but I'd expect a stable to be available once winter comes along.

Where do you find a horse though for full loan?

And would it be better to just wait until the stable is finished/available and then get a loan horse?

It really depends on what the owner thinks about not having a stable available initially. Some might not mind. It is worth starting to look anyway incase it takes a while to find the right horse.

I've been looking for a loan horse and i've found the nicest horses go by word of mouth, nothing seems to come up online unless it's ancient, tiny or has something wrong with it and people just want rid (obviously not all).
Dependent on what you're after I would contact the people who run your local PCs/RCs etc and just get the word around that you're looking.
This is what I did and I'm now trying one of the master of our local hunts horses for a few days, so you never know what you might find. Good luck.
