I use the term competition horse lightly as she is one more in temperament than anything at the mo!
Unfortunately circumstances mean I am looking seriously at loaning madam out. However, I am struggling to think of the best place to advertise to get the right sort of person, as most of the "wanted" ads I see are for happy hackers/plods or school masters! Any ideas would be very much appreciated. :)

Competition centres? I would love to loan her, but can't as a) she is a mare and b) am not really up for competing at the moment, sure someone will bite your hand off though! :)

Sorry to hear you may have to loan her out.

I believe Horsequest is a good place to start. Certainly where I found mine and the quality on there seems better than most others.

Word of mouth, and contact local DCs/ instructors? You could easily get a keen teenager who's willing to put the work in for a mare like yours... 4 years ago, she was what we were after for Al and we're not isolated cases!

I would second word of mouth. I loaned the GBO out whilst I was abroad and that all came about through word of mouth. It meant everyone involved had a vested interest in it going well!

Im looking for a client who has out grown their pony lovely home in Surrey...
Looking for a 16hh ish horse loan or lwvb proven record at BE90. Nothing quirky or needing work...any one with the above please pm me!

Facebook just secured a great rider to jump CP for me, admittedly she is a 'friend' but hadn't even thought about her till I did a little wanted post...

Here! I found a lovely eventer to loan from a HHO member about 5 years ago. We had a very successful few years together competing regularly at Novice and eventually Int. he went back home when I started my Masters and his owner and I are still good friends. :)

Ohhhh wish I could afford upkeep for another. Really sorry to hear about the need to put her out on loan, but I think someone will be very grateful for the opportunity to have such a super jumper. Word of mouth and FB seem to be great places.

Sorry to hear you might have to loan madam out. I would second word of mouth and fb pages, i would also look on HorseQuest as there is often people looking for more comp type horses on there.

My sister has just taken a competition horse on loan she saw it advertised on HorseQuest. I think if you do advertise you will get loads of phone calls, you will know if they sound right as soon as you speak to them. Good luck with it I hope it all works out :)
