Hi! Looking to buy a new second hand trailer. Where do people find is the best place to look? Have tried the obvious sites (horsemart etc) but just wondering if there are any I'm missing? Don't really want to go to the dealerships because you always pay a premium, although I am going to go and have a nosey.

I'm after a Bateson Ascot/ Deauville less than 5 years old, preferably somewhere down south is anyone knows of one!

I found when buying 2nd hand that there was not a lot of difference between buying privately and buying from a dealer.

At least if you buy from a dealer you have comeback and they should have already checked that trailer is legitimate

I have PM'd you

Have you tried tack shop message boards or even placing your own advert on there. Also I would recommend looking at PCUK.org website that's where I bought mine from Private seller, bought new from dealer but selling cos children giving up. (505 IW under 2years old with all documents & datatagged the private seller even threw in bulldog wheel clamp. Good Luck.

I am having the same trouble!
I have looked everywhere for an Ifor Williams 510 or a Richardson Ultra. I have even put an advert in my farriers van!
Think I might try some dealers unless anyone out there has one??
Sorry Galaxy - didn't mean to hijack your post!!

Batesons are much rarer second hand than Ifor Williams, however they do come up now and then. I recently bought a second hand trailer and was very specific over what I wanted. I had to just keep checking my list of advertising websites daily!

I looked on;

http://www.thehorseexchange.com/BusinessServices/SearchAds/quick_horse_trailers.asp (there's a Richardson Ultra on there nicki68!)
http://www.adtrader.co.uk/
http://www.trade-it.co.uk/
http://equestrian.uk.freeads.net/horseboxes/
http://www.preloved.co.uk/

and good old ebay.

Good luck with the hunt- it's worth the wait!

Oooh thanks for those sites! I will enquire about that Richardson Ultra - it sounds just the ticket.
The problem with ebay is that I would really want to view the trailer before I bid and they are always miles away!
Thanks again.
