Hey everyone,

I really want to re home an ex racer. I have been looking for a while now, and I thought I had found one, then on the day of the vetting it turned into a total disaster by the horse being compeltly different from the previous times we went there. The horse was very unhappy and blocked me in the stable and I couldnt get out without being bitten or kicked lol. Then the vet turned up and then our trailer came .. such a shame as I really thought she was going to be the "one".

So now im on the search again.
Does anyone know of any yards/stables in the East Sussex area that brings on ex racers?
Not sure where to look now.

Thank you in advance!

Do you want a complete project straight off the track or one which has already been reschooled?

I woudl say the Ex Racers Club . com is a good place to ask as there are lots of people in the industry or with contacts in the industry on there.

I don't want one straight off the track. The mare I went to go see had been off the tracks for about 4/5months and had already started being re schooled. She was ridden in a normal GP saddle and listened to your aids etc but didnt work in an outline which will take a long time to get her to do anyways. So something along that line??

I have a 4 yr old gelding for sale do you want a link to the add? not raced for over 12 months raced 3 times. Came out of training earlier this yr.

Try Moorcroft - they are near Horsham West Sussex they have some lovely ex racehorses, they are within an easy distance of East Sussex.

Also a lot of racing trainers will have horses for sale that simply aren't suited to a career in racing i.e won't make the grade, too slow etc etc- maybe contact some trainers directly- I've ridden a few ex racehorses that have come out of a racing yard and they have been lovely, well mannered horses!- good luck.
