ive been having alot of trouble with my new saddle. it have had it about 6 months and really not getting on with it. its unstable and uncomfortable for me, and i just dont feel right. ive decided im going to sell it and start again, but i need some advice:
1. where is the best place to sell, and am i going to get anywhere near what i paid...its barely used
2. any body recommend saddles/saddle fitters in surrey, for round and short-backed connie.
3. could treeless saddles be an option? never tried one before but just a thought

any advice greatly appreciated xxx

ebay is good for selling......as to a new saddle, it's a bit like a needle in a haystack until you start to do research. Can you describe your horse, and what you do ?

I have both normal saddle and a treeless (prefer treeless) but it's soooo subjective.

thankyou for the responses guys x
ok so pony is just 14hh connie x, quite a chunck with big shoulders and a short back, pretty much no withers and very broad.
i have had alot of trouble with saddles rubbing at the back with him as well, probably due to the short back x
i ride up to 5 times a week, for about an hour. just hacking and a bit of schooling/jumping. the odd bit of training or cross country. nothing majorly hard :) x

Well Shy is short and stocky, 14.2 hh. I tried many synthetics, Thorowgood and wintec were hopeless, so got a GFS genesis - really good, but currently needing a gullet change. I use this for jumping and lessons.

The saddle I adore is my Barefoot Drytex though - I got this as he's young and changes shape. If you are interested in treeless, definitely do a search on here, as there are lots of opinions. Ooo just noticed you want to jump - so treeless may well not be right for you.

As for leather, I don't do tack cleaning ;)

Julie Robertson fits lavina Mitchell. Julie has highlands as I do . I know her through our society . She will know about wide ponies so she may offer some good advice.
