i am looking for a nice quiet companion pony that i can ride out once a week or so with my son on his pony (SWA).
needs to be a good doer & be able to live out, not too big max 14h & prefer free/very cheap. a companion pony that can only manage light work would be ideal.
have looked at Rspca/blue cross/wood green but they either have nothing at moment or are not willing to give details out untill you have filled in all the forms (i am not desperate for one) just putting out feelers but would take one on now if the right one popped up.
any ideas on where is good to look?

charities such as the blue cross or ilph have loads of companions and light hacks

or there are companions on project horses, freeads etc

I've got a girly who is a light hack... she's 15hh but lw, so only takes max 9st. She's not the best of doers, but as long as she is fed properly, she would rather be out than in! Want her to go to a long term loan home really. PM me if you want more info

Hi

I have a 13.2hh New Forest pony as a companion for my horse. Forest bred ponies are very cheap to buy and economical to keep (as long as they don't get laminitis).
