Where to sell an Mcllerran US Calvary saddle?

Haven’t been able to track down the year but it’s old, mostly wooden and pretty wonderful. Not exactly the sort of thing I can shove in the next tack auction!

And eBay will be a fortune in fees.

Are there any saddle collectors sites or groups that I could try?

Is it the kind of thing that would go well in a militaria or antiques auction? Is it useable or more of a curiosity?

It probably would actually… it’s at least pre 1920, I’m still trying to trace it with the regiment stamps on it, but not got too far. I think it could be revamped enough to use (I sat on it on the old pony because I couldn’t resist!) but I guess collectors might prefer it all original.

I’d contact your local antiques auction house- they’re usually really good at getting good publicity across the net and maybe even abroad?

am i right in thinking you are in Cornwall. If so there is this shop in Tavistock which may not be too far. Last time I was there they had a WW1 officer's saddle on display. Could be worth ringing them for advice.
