Hi,

I am looking to send my clippers away for a service and also repair as they are overheating!! I was planning on sending them to clippersharp, but from their website there is a 28 day wait. I have contacted them to confirm this and they have said they won’t be able to look at them (even if I send now) until the second week in January and I ideally need them repaired and working for just after Christmas.

Can anyone recommend somewhere else to send them? Or would you wait and send to clippersharp? I haven’t used clippersharp but the reviews I have found online for them are very good.

Many Thanks in advance.

You will probably find that anywhere good to send clippers for repairs will be in the same boat as Clippersharp.
Blades are currently working on a 5 day turn around and clippers are about 4 weeks so it is still pretty quick for this time of year.
A lot of people wait until now to send their machines in for a service (which could wait until the new year), despite numerous special offers running during the spring and summer, which then cause the wait to grow even more.

Another vote for Anglia clipping although I have only had blades sharpened very quick turnaround might be worth giving them a call re servicing. This time last year I sent my clippers to Listers to be sorted out although web site said 5 weeks turnaround it was actually only 3

I sent mine to HCS on Saturday. They have serviced and repaired them and sharpened 6 pairs of blades and they came back today. I have used them for years and they are great.

I use Shear Ease for blade sharpening and they are extremely quick :-

They also do servicing and repairs for the following makes of clipper: Oster, Wahl, Andis, Moser, Liveryman, Lister, Heineger, Hauptner & Wolseley clippers.

Very good, used to use these to send my customers clippers and blades to when I had a High St tack shop, never let me down, extremely quick and a written report on them on return, that was in 1993, glad to see they are still going strong as they have a good reputation.

I use Shear Ease for blade sharpening, they are excellent. Not needed to use them for servicing yet, but would do so based on my experiences with them so far :).

Most good companies are very busy at this time of year and repair turnarounds do suffer. I know Clippersharp do everything in the order it arrives, whether it is blades or machines. They have had numerous half price service offers out of season this year, but still people leave it til mid season for a service, which slows down repairs. I have been in the trade for nearly twenty years and it does not change. Experienced staff who know what they are doing in the clipping and sharpening field are very difficult to come by and the off season is a long and quiet time. So all I can say is be as patient as you can with whoever you send your repairs/blades to. They will get them done as quickly as they possibly can, as it is in no one's interest to have a massive backlog wherever possible. The staff will be working as hard as they can and their stress levels will be high, so give them a chance and they will do their best for you.

I have used many different companies over the tears but by far the best experience has been Anglia clippers, I still use them to this day and have yet to be let down after nearly 10 years.
