Looking to get together all the equipment needed whilst pony hunt continues. Where is the best one stop shop . I work in a DIY store so good discount on wheelbarrow, broom and flexi tubs etc, but need haynets, fork grooming kit etc. Also, what did you buy that was never used, therefor can do without ?

Thanks in advance, oh just does not share the excitement of new pony shopping :)

What sort of equipment?

I wouldn't buy any tack because the horse you get may not fit into it... Same goes for a bit and rugs.

Maybe look at saddle blankets and stuff for you until you have a horse lined up. eg; My 14.3hh horse fits a 5'9 rug, a cob size bridle and a 17" saddle with a Med-wide gullet... My 16hh horse fits a 6'0 rug, a full size bridle and a 17" saddle with a med wide gullet - note the saddle size is the same... one is a wintec Isabell, the other is a bates Isabell. While not a 100% perfect fit, the saddles fit well enough to be able to be swapped if needed.

Online places are really good to get stuff cheaper. I do quite a bit of shopping for my two online :)

Wasn't looking for anything tack wise.

Grooming kit, haynets, the little stuff ;-). Would you go for a Stanley type big wheeled box for storing grooming kit, they seem so much more reasonable than the actual grooming kit boxes I have seen.

Ebay or facebook groups if you want second hand stuff (occassionally the odd new item available).

If you want to know of any good tack shops there is Ingatestone in Essex, fab shop huge and best of all has a lovely case in case you get the munchies whilst shopping hehe. X

Put a note up at your local tack shop or any yards near to you stating what you want.
Generally we horse people always have too much stuff and would be glad to be able to sell off some for a reasonable price.
