I need a gelding asap.

I have just loaned out my 14.2 as a ridden pony (he was bored doing nothing) and I need a companion gelding asap.

I know charities usually have some but would like to get on with it rather than wading through yards of red tape.

I on Herts/Essex/Cambs borders near Royston.

Excellent knowledgable home, good fencing, stables and restricted turnout if necc.

Don't mind a laminitic risk but no bad lamimitics.

I have 3 horses at home now and need a companion to stay at home as company for 1 left behind, when I take 2 out together.

Someone was advertising a companion jack (ie stallion) donkey for sale on the BD forum for just £350. Would that be any good?

Sorry don't have a companion available, but this was the logic I explained to my non horsey husband when we were getting the stables built. Not sure he was too convinced by it though!! Good luck in finding something, I'm sure there are plenty around needing a good home.

essex horse and pony protection society - in pitsea essex. well worth a look.

I have got a perfectly rideable 13.1hh pony called Dodger. He hunts but has a bit of a dirty stop SJ and is blinking hard to catch and therefore is really cheap.

We got one from WHW, phone them up rather than going on the website. It was very quick for us , probably no longer than a fortnight and you have constant support and a home for him to go back to if circumstances change - plus you free up space for another neddy in need.

its a shame you dont still have the pony you have loaned out, id have done a swap with you.
i have a welsh mare, 10h 3" bright bay 10yo & very very affectionate & easy to do but needed backing as she has only driven way back in her past (was sold from a dealers as a first pony, but freaked with saddle on) i have started her from scratch & she is coming along nicely but i really want one i can ride myself (i have another littlie that is ride/drive for me & the kids)

It only took me a week from applying for a companion pony to having the pony in my field. had to go look at ponies choose one then 2 days later had home visit and collected pony few days later. Quick and simple only one form to fill in,

I know of a mare and a small stallion and a larger mare that could possibly go on loan as companions but not a smal gelding, I wouldn't have thought you'd have much trouble finding one though.

Try ringing ARC is Bishops Stortford they sometimes have ponies and horses for rehoming 01279 501547 (My pony is from there and I can recommend them)
