a 15hh+ mare, 6 years or over to be a companion for a broodmare and escort youngsters out on hacks for very little or no cash? It's a fabulous home for life and although she would need to live out she would be very well cared for and never ever passed on elsewhere.
It's a sad situation, YO lost her grandfather horse who looked after all the babies last summer and we have a mare in foal in need of a companion, as well as many youngsters on the yard who need company hacking out. The insurance didn't pay out for the lost gelding last year and so there's little or no cash to spend on a new one, but in the current climate where many people are struggling to keep their horses it would be a 5* home for life on their own land, hence costs to keep are not an issue.
Doesn't matter what condition, level of schooling etc so long as she's safe on the roads and reasonable to handle from the ground. We're definitely not dealers and YO currently has 6 that she's taken in from various people/places with or without problems, but because they've all been rehomed due to a problem only one is ridden but isn't quite quiet enough for this job. None of them will ever go to anyone else despite their quirks.
If anyone is looking for a home like this or knows someone who is please PM me. Also suggestions for where to look would be much appreciated. We're based in the South East and would consider anything in Kent, Sussex, Surrey or Hampshire.
