Hi

A friend is looking for a JRT puppy. She wants a really little one - and doesn't know where to start looking (North West area). I found mine of epupz.com but I don't know if there are any places that are recommended.?

Thanks

TBM

Mine came through word of mouth and came from some non travelling travelers if you get my gist:cool:
Round here they breed them all the time and sell them for extortonate sums to people like me:o Having said that she is a super healthy little thing with a fabulous temprement.
If you want a health checked one then you would need to go to a breeder who does not just take cash and is registered somewhere but I could not really find anyone "reputable" around here.
The other place that has a lot of terriers is the local dog rescue which is related to Battersea. They do not seem to have puppies though.

Rescue center - If your friend lived near us she could have had a slightly deformed teacup type Jack pup for free. My aunt sent him to a rescue as she couldn't cope after her relationship broke down.

My 2 came from farms - one from a pig farm and she is now 15 and still going strong, the other came from a sheep farm and is a year and a half old - the old one came from an add in local paper, the young one I found through farmers guardian. Both are the taller straight legged variety - not the bow legged deformed sorts, although they are still pretty small. Watch out for adds stating teacup or miniature types as they are generally runts bred to runts and not very healthy or chi crosses - working terrier stock are the best really - just go by your gut - if the place looks like a shite hole, they're fed on rubbish and haven't been wormed, and the parents are scabby terrible thin looking things that have had a ton of litters then walk away - there are lots about!!

My alfie came from a farm and his daddy was a really live wire.

Yes watch out for the Queen Anne legged types. You know the legs turned out type.

as for teacup terriers. Yack! My friend had a teacup yorkie. Not good.
