We survived our first show!
It was a night of "firsts" - first time to a show for Hovis, first time for a show for me, first time hubby had driven the lorry with horses in it, first time Hovis has been in an indoor arena, first time doing warm up with lots of others horses (that bit was HORRIBLE), first time jumping a full course of jumps and first time jumping jumps with wings.
I was petrified to the point of being in tears which can't have helped him but he was very brave. He really showed his age last night - his eyes were on stalks at everything.
We did the clear round twice and then decided to call it a day. We demolished three fences (2 the first time and 1 the second time) and I think i rode like I'd never been on a horse in my life.
We will have to practise lots more, including putting the wings up as these put him off quite a bit, and then have another go!!
