Which bedding

I currently own two very tidy mares and am moving yards with the option for straw(currently in shavings). My mucking out plan is to remove droppings obviously everyday answer at least twice a day. One of my horses can drag bed round and frequently is on concrete with shavings. SO the question is do I swap to straw?? I am positive they won't eat it but it is so much cheaper!

If I had the option to change to straw I would in an instant! Shavings are far too expensive and my boy is similarly often on concrete

If it was included in the price, I'd suck it up and use straw. If I'm paying for it, I wouldn't use straw as I can't stand it.
