Which bit for a baby?

I'm starting work with my 3 yr old cob. He's got quite a chubby 6" mouth. I don't want a happy mouth as I've had them before and they get chewed through too quickly.
Should I get something like a full cheek with a copper mouth and a peanut? And as he has a bit of a chubby mouth should I get a thinner mouth piece?

neue schule started bit worked well for us. Have changed to a similar mouthpiece with eggbutt ring version now.

Got 2 babies both in french link full cheeks, both work great, one is a copper mix the other is a flexi mouth, again both suit each horse that has them.
