I am trying out different bits as my mare hates any sort of tongue pressure. She isn't overly strong, she hates single jointed and not keen on her Verbindend. Any suggestions would be great, thank you.
I'm a big fan of mylers as my own was tricky and didn't like most bits I tried. I started with the myler low port MB04, swapped to a myler comfort MB02 once she settled with the MB04. Now though, she's back in the verbindend and bloody loves it. Go figure...
My very very fat tongued horse loved a simple myler snaffle .
Hanging cheek bits ( mouth piece to suit ) can also suit this type of horse , as when you use the bit the bit lifts in the mouth relieving tongue pressure .
Myler MB04 low port. My wb hates anything in his mouth as he has a very fat tongue. He goes like a saint in this bit, only problem is it's not dressage legal. But for everyday training its fab. You could even warm up in it at a dressage show then change to a legal one just before you go in.
