My mare is currently in a snaffle she can be strong and takes hold of the bit and pulls therefore no brakes! I did try a waterford as was advised but that seems to harsh for her she doesn't like it at all. Someone has advised a Dutch gag or even a hanging cheek snaffle. So many to choose from, my mare is a green pony I'm so not sure what to try next. Any advise please?

Are you having lessons? How much experience do you have regarding riding/schooling? What schooling are you doing? Is she on the forehand?

Bits are not a quick fix for a poorly trained horse or a novice rider giving the wrong aids. They don't provide brakes. And misuse of even a 'mild' bit can do a lot of damage. Your horse is green and you and your daughter are novice riders. Not a great combo. Suggest you and your daughter have lots of lessons and concentrate on improving your aids.
