I need a bit of advise on which bit to try on my young horse. He is a 4 year old appaloosa x cob who's been proffesionally broken in about 5 months now.
Currently I ride him in a full cheek jointed snaffle without the fulmer loops . He isn't strong at the moment but constantly plays with the bit and leans/grabs hold of it when out hacking and can sometimes use this to try and go faster than I want him to (usually down hills or in not very appropriate places).
I've had him teeth checked last month so they are ok.
Any one got any advice on a bit which will give some control and help stop him leaning and playing with the bit or any other idea's on how to stop him doing this?
I know a lot of it is probably him being green/lack of schooling but at present I don't have the facilities to school him so not sure which bit to us.
Any suggestions welcome.
