I have finally found a new horse, my poor boy having died on 18 June.
I did want a schoolmaster but could not find anything sound or affordable, so have now bought a unbacked 3 year old. She has very big, athletic movement. Usually I just use equilibrium streach & flex boots on my other horse (also very big moving) but all the 'baby' will be mainly doing for the next 6 months is light hacking so I am unsure whether I should use a boot with more protection in case she does a massive spook and stands on herself. Also she will need gently lunged before I get on. She is a sharp spooky filly but where she is being backed they will do a lot of work getting her used to spookey things and hacking her out.
I thought the premier equine combo sports boots looked pretty good as they have fetlock support and also have bult in over-reach boots. Has anyone had them and what did they think? Any other suggestions very gratefully received! She won;t be coming home until she passes the vet (fingers crossed) then she will be away to be backed for about 6 weeks so I have plenty of time to deceide.
