I usually put normal brushing boots or clarendon boots on Baron for jumping at home. Now im hoping to start doing a little sj with him. Im paranoid about protecting his legs but wondered am I best using open tendon and fetlock boots so he can feel when he knocks a pole down? Or shall I go down the bandage route?

I used to use open fronted tendon boots, over reach boots and fetlock boots, but now I don't use anything for my tb mare, if she's going to hit something a flimsy bit of nuroprene and plastic isnt going to help much. I'd use boots for hunting and lunging/young horses or if the horse had a secific problem but that's about it.
But usual bootage for show jumping is tendon boots and fetclock boots, leather with sheepskin always looks very smart
