Am possibly taking D to a little XC training thing this weekend with my friend. We're probably not going to be doing any of the jumps, just going to walk round and get used to the course a bit (pony is a bit of a whimp atm)..but might attempt a couple if he's behaving/brave enough!

Just wondering whether people would recommend brushing boots or open fronted tendon boots for it?

I have both but don't really know which will be best as I've never done ANY XC before!

Also, he's not shod at the moment...but do you think I should still put his over-reach boots on just incase!?

Oooh and do I need to put boots on his back legs as well as his fronts?

Haha sorry for numpty questions...but I've never done XC before and don't want ponio to get hurt!

Brushing boots on front and back.
Personally dont like using over-reach boots for XC unless they fit very well and have been trimmed so the backs of them are off the floor.

Thanks TimeFaulter

Meh seems like some stupid questions but I've never done XC before (or been with anyone that has)....so meh!

Looks like I'm gonna have to have a scout round for some back brushing boots then!

I would have front and back brushing boots if at all possible, I woudln't worry too much about over reach ones unless he does need them. Do you use OR boots for normal jumping? If you normally use them then use them.

snakebite I usually use them when we're normally jumping when he is shod...but haven't really bothered since he's been barefoot

I have front brushing boots just gotta see if YO has some back ones I can borrow!
