Am in need of some more every day brushing boots, so need some reccomendations please.

I need...
-Something that offers good protection, as they will be used for flatwork, jumping, canter work and roadwork, (baisically anything we do at home).
-Something that keeps the tendons cool, and is lightweight.
-Something thats not too fiddly to wack on and off :D

Was thinking N.E.W aircooled brushing boots, but they're quite pricey for brushing boots. Are there any slightly cheaper alternatives? Or does anyone want to give me such a good report on the N.E.W's that it pursuedes me to spend the extra money? :p :D

Thanks

I use woof wear for eveything, I think they do an "air cooled version" if that's what you want.

If you like the look of n.e.w boots go for them, I've got a pair (haven't used them yet, £12.50 bargain at Badminton) but they look lovely ;)

Trizone are the only ones I have found that are very lightweight, keep the legs cooled (honeycombe design) and extra protection for the tendon - the bad news is that they are £50 a pair. Good news is they don't move and gray horse can come back dripping on a day like this but his legs are still relatively cool. Like the extra strike protection as well. For everyday use with a horse that doesn't need a massive amount of protection than I really rate the wolf club boots - dating back to having 3 horses to ride after work so boots that took forever to do up were a no no - BUT they do not offer a high level of protection, ie XC just good for every day use - and around £22 a pair.

Lucie07 do you find the trizone rub? I've heard they rub quite a bit

Sorry to hijack bbr!

Just looked at the trizones, and my first thought was, hmm dont look like they'd fit too well, eg fit the contours of the leg! To me they look like they'd rub, but all horses legs are shaped differently i guess :p for the sake of a few quid i think id go with N.E.W over the trizones :) (found the trizones at £39.99) :)

I have a pair of NEW brushing boots lite (http://www.aivly.com/product_93324.htm) and I love them. They wash well (they're always being chucked in my washing machine), fit well and my horse doesnt get too hot in them - in fact I'm so pleased with them I'm planning on buying another pair.

I always use to use Woof Wear but the velcro on them goes so quickly or the straps break off and for the price I don't think the quality's very good. I'm a big fan of Eskadron boots (mine last years) but I don't think they do a nice simple brushing boot (they use to do some schooling boots but they've stopped them and done more specific dressage/jumping ranges or wraps instead)

I LOVE NEW boots, they fit my horse beautifully and I have never had any problems with them rubbing (I tried Trizone boots which did rub, and I have never personally been impressed with the quality of Equilibrium boots).

The NEW boots wear really well, the only time I have had to replace mine was when we were hacking and hit by a car! Luckily the boots took the worst of it, and he wasn't seriously hurt.

I have the NEW airflow brushing boots for my lad and he wears them virtually 24/7 even in this weather! He comes in in the morning for his brekka and my YO takes them off to give him a break from them, then I put them back on for exersize and turn out. He has shown no signs of them rubbing (and he's a thin coated tb) and tbh although his legs do feel warm in this heat they are certainly not overheating or sweaty. Deffo worth the extra cost imo, keep an eye on ebay as I got mine on there for about £30.

Definitely. They will last so long that you forgot what you paid for them anyway. and they're super lightweight. I bought mine on ebay, you could keep an eye out on there for a pair.
