I know it's boring....!

Star is worked for 2 hours per day hacking/Schooling and we have one lesson a weeks.

After the hacks she will be sweaty under her saddle/girth and a bit between front and hind legs. After our lesson she will be dripping from top to toe.

Does anyone think a blanket clip will cool her enough for my lessons? I don't want to overclip her obviously.

She is stabled overnight with turnout in the day and I have numerous coolers/stable and turnout rugs with and without necks so her circumstances regarding clothing/shelter are not an issue!

Any advice appreciated, this is the first clip I will have done with her. I got her last Feb and she came with a full clip. So have not gone through a winter with her.

Yep, given your circumstances, I'd go with a blanket clip

Our pony had a hunter clip mainly because he has to be sedated and the lady who clips him prefers to just get it all off (not his legs) as quickly as poss ! he also gets ridden every night and weekends plus pony club , If I was you and Star is good to clip then a blanket clip will be fine then if she's still sweats under her saddle you could always clip the rest off

Is it fair to blanket clip if my rugs don't have necks on? Pony is stabled at night, out for a few hours a day and ridden 5 or 6 times a week. At the moment he just has his throat/bib clipped, but he's getting very hot up his neck around his belly and under the saddle, even after only about 15 mins schooling

That sounds good. I've had cushings ponies until now so always had to take the whole lot off every time. I'd better get practising those straight lines hadn't I!
