Which clip?

Hi guys

I have a TB that will be in ridden throughout winter - 4/5 times a week and quite hard work (only schooling/hacking) - he wasnt ridden last winter and he literally turned into a big fury yetti - sooooo which cluip would you recommend? He will be out during the day/in during the night - obviously rugged up accordingly but during the really bad weather he will be in as he's being stable buddies with my pregnant mare!

Which clip would you suggest?

He does suffer mud rash - is it better for legs on or off? x

when you say hard work what do you mean? hard work is classed as competition level fit, hunting, eventing etc. If this is what your doing then I would suggest a full clip or a hunter clip.

If you are doing light to medium work i.e. schooling, hacking for an hour a day then I would think a high trace clip something like that.

My horse is in light work (hacking and schooling) and does feel the cold a bit, so I will be doing a low trace on him

Sometimes its best to clip the legs so that you can check for mud fever easier, but sometimes the hair can help protect the legs from it. maybe depends how much hair he does get on his legs? my friends cob has just had his legs clipped out as they were very feathery!
