For usual winter clips? I have the standard blades for my clipper but they don't seem to take that much off......!! What does everyone else use? Standard or the fine ones?
I use fine blades but my horse is tb x so not too hairy! Also they clip closer than most of the other peoples clippers in our yard. They get really close but also his coat is not coarse at all!
I use mediums on my cob unless theres a wound or something that needs total exposure for the vet, then I use the fines. I find they are a bit too close for general clips.
Standard - clip most horses with these
Thoroughbred - clip fine coated horses with these (they are between and standard and a fine)
Super fine - for veterinary purposes only
8mm cattle blades - general dog clipping
4mm cattle blades with wide tooth spacing - matted dog clipping
