I'm looking for a new set of clippers. I want ones that are easy to tension and easy to clean. I've had Heiniger Handy clippers and they're a faff to tension and to clean. I've borrowed some Masterclip 120watt ones and they are the same design and really, really noisy.

Anyone have Lister or Liveryman and able to offer opinions? Preferably I want ones that don't have lots of space under the blades for hair to gather. And easy tensioning is a must.

Yes, I too have Lister Star clippers. Have mine own horse to do, but also clip on average another 5/6 horses throughout winter, twice maybe three times each sometimes. Had mine for about 4 years now and never had a problem. Get them serviced once a year, blades sharpened as you'd expect and that's it. They're light compared to many, but definitely heavy duty enough for what you want them for. Easy to tension/clean too.

I have lister liberty clippers which came with a free libretto trimmer. I can't recommend them highly enough and a complete doddle to tension.

I have the lister star green :) love mine! I have clipped 3 horses with them so far (only had them since jan) done 1 full clip and 2 traces and there fab! but everywhere else i seen them more expensive, my tack shop sell theres for £197

I got lister legends after a lot of research - have a look at wattage, higher wattage motors are more heavy duty. I have a very hairy cob and everything else i've tried has worked but slowly - takes me forever to give her a full clip. The legends whip through her coat and feathers so quickly, really rate them
