Am finally going to take the plunge and buy my own set of clippers. Does anyone have any recommendations as to which set I should go for. I don't know where to start!

I have Moser Avalon with ceramic blades. The clippers run from a battery pack (rechargeable) which clips to a waist belt and gives you 3hours clipping per charge. The clippers are very very quiet. Had them 2 years with no problems. We have a very hairy welsh section D who gets a full clip every 6 weeks during the winter and the clippers cope fine. I'd recommend them ~ cost about £180.

Would agree with samp - i've also got the Heiniger handy clippers and they've been on the go for 10 years or more without any problems. Easy to use, light to handle and quiet when running.
