My clippers have given up on the first clip of the year....(they were several years old, and to be fair, I had never had them serviced, so I probably deserve it!).....there are so many different ones on the market....any recommendations?!

I have a 3 to clip....including one very hairy cob, so they have to be pretty powerful and robust.....

TIA

I have a pair of whal avalons and a pair of lister harmony's - they are both tough enough to clip our boys coats (one 16hh welsh coat and 1 16.2 irish draught fluff), but neither coat is coarse, just thick. They are now 5+ years old and going strong. I love them for being lightweight, easy to handle and use, and they stay cool for ages.

Hi Maisy,

What clippers did you have and were you happy with them when they were working? And when you say they 'have given up' what exactly do you mean? If you liked them then they maybe be worth repairing...? Also if you say which ones they were I could tell you how reliable the brand generally is...

Right now I'm up and waiting for my baby sons bottle to cool so limited time, I'll spend some time and write a review of 3 or 4 suitable clippers for you later today...if you read this before I post again, reply with which clipper has 'given up' if you will please!

I haven't had a problem with Lister they are powerful, not too loud and seem to be good. I can't compare them b/c they're all we have.
