I have a 15hh show cob that is nervous when being clipped with clippers that have a lead, however he is ok when we use the Liveryman Elementary clippers on him, but as he has course hair it take ages to do his legs and hog his mane. This is done every two weeks.

We are thinking of buying the Liveryman Harmany clippers with the battery pack, and would like to know what you think about them if you have used them. From what we have read about them they are supposed to be quiet and have a low vibration which would be good for a nervous horse.

Your help is appreciated.

dont know about the liveryman ones but ive got the heiniger cordless clippers. they dont make much noise and vibration levels are low - great buy and well worth the money

We have Lister Liberty ones which have a battery pack. They are good + they fit into your hand good aswell! You can also buy a lead with them incase you ever need it (they have a bit more zooomph! then)

Good Luck!

We have the Liveryman Harmony clippers and they will happily do our Dales mares and one has a really thick coat. Not sure about how they would clip feathers though as we dont LOL
Edited to add, yes they are really quiet and are low vibration. They are the only ones I can handle with my dodgy hands.

I have 2 cobs and bought the lister libery delux pack from www.farmcareuk.com check out prices for both there is a good saving the smaller clippers are great for heads /legs they run on a battery have a look I trailed the net to find best deal as they arn't cheap as for the Heiniger cordless they are heavy in the hand my friend bought a pair and she says they cut at a funny angle ring the chap up at farmcare he is very good and will go over the other clippers you like to give you a decisionon which are best for you, good luck.

Thank you all for taking time to reply, I will look into farmcare and see how much the liveryman ones are on there. He is a dales cross but his legs are kept clipped so they should be ok as his feathers do not get time to grow back fully. Thanks again for your help.
