Which Dog Insurance?

My horse is insured and I am a BHS member, but we don't have household insurance and we are getting a new dog, so I thought I should get some insurance - vet's and 3rd party.

Any suggestions for the best companies?
 
Tesco is very good- cheap too as you can pick your excess and extra's. Pup is £8 per month and old girl £14 per month and thats for £4000 per incidendent and 2 million third party. Excess is only £60!
 
My dog is insured with direct line (and has been for 5 years). I have made 2 small claims in that time and both were paid quickly.

Premiums are competitive, I usually run a check on other companies each renewal.

Excess is on the high side at £160 but small price to pay for a policy with £6000 per incident and life long coverage (so no year limit on an incident)
 
My whippet is insured with Tescos, shes 5 and i pay £14 a month at the moment. However in the last 2 years ive claimed nearly £3000 from them and they have paid out instantly each time - it has all been very easy. This year alone she has been attacked by 3 dogs (non her fault shes very pathetic) each has involved staples, anti biotics and a bill around £600 and each time Tescos have been great. Now i have a whippet who is scared of other dogs, big dogs especially. Our other Whippet also got attacked on the weekend and had to have a staple in, i think we're just having some serious bad luck at the moment - either that or no one in our area can control their dogs properly.....

ETA - my excess is only £70 :)
 
My dog is a 2 yr old giant yorkie cross- the cross i'm not sure- looks like either a Shih-Tzu or a Dandie Dinmont!- he's insured with Churchill who gave me the most competitive insurance quote for vets fees at just under £8 per month.
