So I've just got a new dressage saddle. I ride a very sensitive ex racer so I'm looking for a girth that doesn't dig in and is padded and comfy for him. Maybe a nice wide contiured one? However my budget isn't huge (as little as possible).

Any ideas?

I've just bought one of these (dream team W girth) for my arab as she has a straight girth groove but needed the girth shaped around her elbows. She also has fine skin and rubs easily.

My mare is quite sensitive and rubs easily. I got a really lovely shaped leather girth - looked beautiful - rubbed her like anything. I always stick to the Thorowgood / Wintec / HKM cheapy ones now - the synthetic ones. They are so easy to keep - the Thorowgood one I had, well it cost me less than £20 brand new, and lasted about 4-5 years of daily use.

Thanks for all your replies. I've been looking at a few different ones online. The girth he has on his gp at the moment is a wintec one and it doesn't rub so its probably a good place to start.

I really like the look of the shaped ones but I don't think I'll go far wrong with a thoroughgood or wintec one initially.

Thanks guys
