Hi, I am looking at changing my 22 yo TB's feed and would like some reccomendations based on other peoples experiences. He is currently on 1 mug of Low Cal, 1/2 scp speedibeet, 1/2 scp alfa a and a joint suppliment twice a day. He is out in the day on fair grass and have haylage at night when tucked up. His weight is good but I am about to bring him back into work after a 7 month break. He has very little muscle and will spend several weeks long lining before I contemplate getting on as want to build up his back muscles first before I put a saddle on him. Should I keep him on the feed he is on or change it? I asked Allen & Page about their Veteran Vitality as had heard lots of goods reviews but because he had trauma laminitis 10 years ago they did not think VV was a good idea. Instead they suggested Fast Fibre with chaf plus linseed oil and Vitemin E. Does this sound OK? Any other suggestions / advise happily taken! Thanks!

i actually found feeding my 26 year old wb x tb fast fibre better than giving him VV! I have, however, found he has been better on micronized linseed than he was on linseed oil. But then every horse is different and I was feeding the linseed for weight gain. Also rather than picking out a certain vit/min to feed, i would maybe think about getting a vit/min supplement with several important ones in. I feed my guys equi-mins vit supplement. :-)
