So I'm looking for a new fly rug, after always buying cheap ones that don't work and rub and slip I have decided to invest this year in a decent one haha

I have been recommended 3 different rugs and Im stuck at which one to buy

they are

Rambo Sweet Itch Hoody

Premier Equine Sweet Itch Buster

and

the silver Mark Todd ultra combo rug

now the last two are more in my budget although you can't put a price on him having a comfortable summer so I am willing to splash out on the Rambo Switch Itch Hoody if it's the best recommended

I just wanted to hear from the people on here what your opinions are one those three rugs

thank youuu :)

Definitely the Rambo Sweet Itch Hoodie, such good rugs and last ages if you keep it washed and clean regularly. They also do a detachable waterproof liner so if it rains, horse doesnt get wet. My friend has them, very hardwearing and good for her horse. Worth the extra cost.

Having tried LOTS of SI and fly rugs my favourite by a long way is by HY. Doesn't slip as they have ear holes, and also have belly flap which I haven't found both in any other rug. Plus is is silver which repells the sun and keeps them nice and cool.

I like the Derby House Tega ones. Theyre about £35.00 and also have a UV Filter.

I've bought this one. Quality wise, it is highly recommended. It fits very well and it is finished to a very high standard. The material isn't mesh, it is white ripstop rug material. It looks quite hilarious on, with the earholes and the 5 (yes, 5!) neck velcros. She reminds me of a jousting horse.

I have the rambo one and oh has the derby house one.
For a sweet itch one then obv the rambo one, but if you just need a fly rug then I think the derby house one is really fab. Both cover up to the ears and have belly covers too. I wouldn't bother with one with a standard neck and so much coat is left exposed when the neck drops down, also wouldn't consider one without a belly cover - saves gallons of fly spray as the mid line seems to be buffet central to the flys round here!
