which hay steamer?

Hey

I saw both at burghley last weekend. The Hay Gain one does look posher but it is loads more expensive. My horse won't care how posh the steaming box looks as long as he gets the warm hay.

I saw clayton fredericks on the happy horse stand. Not sure if they paid him to be there but he looked and sounded genuinely in to the happy horse steamer. he convinced me anyway.

I also saw a cool pink one that happy horse launched at the show. I really wanted that one but thought the guys at the yard would hate it so went for the blue one instead - regretting it now.

They also said it comes with a years warranty which is what finally sold me as I know that if anything goes wrong they'll swap it straight over.

Not sure if that's helpful. I'd be interested to hear what anyone else thought of the happy horse/haygain steamers? Whichever you buy its a great idea. no more bath soaking in freezing water!!

Tried the Haygain one for a week and whilst it is nicely made decided to save the £1,500 and stick with my B&Q wall paper stripper, large plastic tank and plug-in timer. Much cheaper and for me better as we have large bale hay and the Haygain is designed for small bale hay.

The boilers on both are now the same, so just picking the box that suits you

The haygain had the edge as patented the spikes that go into to the bale

Happy horse have a new delivery method, which I cannot really find detailed pictures of, but my choice would be on the one easiest to clean that delivered the steam the best!

Girl at our yard uses a wallpaper steamer and a large plastic bin with lid. Steamer is piped into the bin through a hole in the side of it. Shes uses a timer and hey presto its done.
