Hi, I am looking to treat my boy to a new hw turnout rug at burghley and am after a bit of advice really?
It can't be a combo as they rub his mane away, so must have a detachable neck cover, also I don't want it to slip back either and rub his neck? I was very silly at burghley last year and bought him a cheapie hw combo for £50 what a mistake, as I previously said he had rub marks on his shoulders and half a mane that disapeared!
So if you have any good experiences with a hw to rug that won't do any of the above I would be really greatful to hear about it? Thanks in advance, Kate x

I'm afraid I disagree.. I dislike Masta rugs. They rubbed my boys mane (standard neck) and didn't fit him well on the shoulders. He is quite narrow up front and the masta didn't fit him at all. That masta rugged soon got replaced.

Then again this was about 5 years ago so maybe theyve improved.. just will never go back to them on past experience.

I only tend to use Weatherbeeta rugs now as the fit is good on them or I like Rambo for turnout.. My rambo HW is ancient, got it 2nd hand anyway and still going strong after 6 years with me..

No contest. PREMIER EQUINE. Wouldn't buy anything else. Fantastic quality, well made, don't rub, detachable necks, nice and long.

What size are you after? I have some great rambo and rhino turnouts, in 6'9", for sale. Many are hardly used, but I have to sell them as my old girl has been pts and I need to pay the vet and cremation bill. :(

Don't tell me they're 6'9''. I don't need any encouragement to buy rugs.
Stick them on ebay. Rambos always do well on there.

OP, I like Masta rugs. Bucas rugs are nicer but I can't afford them! Like my Mark Todd h/w too. I have a full neck version but I know you can get them with detachable necks too.

Yeah, for those I can't sell to friends, and friends of friends etc, I will do, but probably best to wait till the weather gets worse for the HWs. ;)

Budget wise Axioms on ebay. Get the 1600/1800 denier though. I bought a full neck HW for £60 (some one needs to tell my welsh x she is not a wimpy TB) If the seller hasn;t got what your after up for sale on there email them and they will put it up for you.

Can any of you remember what on earth was the name of the rug I will describe?? It was a gaberdine material, leg straps..and the un usual feature of a T strap front fixing. That is to say ,usual surcingle fixing, except that joined together to a martingale piece that clipped onto the front fasteners.
I would rather like to buy another,it was the best rug I have ever found, tough ,light and NEVER moved out of place.Anyone??

Premier eq all the way!! Got mine cos my poor doer had a bad back and it was the warmest for the weight, now going into it's third winter looking almost good as new, no repairs as yet ( touch wood) AND it was one of their sale seconds!!! Love their stuff!
