Which hoof supplement?

There are lots of different opinions, and lots of different products. The fact it that no two horses will react the same to all products, so you must find which one works best for your horse. Biotin was the best for mine, others find it of little use.
Prices also vary, some being very expensive.

I have had best results with naf profeet.

switched to F4F march - aug as easier to feed in field but noticeably deteriorated. I thought it might be because of dry summer but it was wet for a lot of it! Switched back in august and noticeable improvement, shod yesterday and for first time in ages no crumbly bits!

I will be keeping him on it from now on.

I suppose it depends on the desired effect you need! My instructor used farriers formula for her TB's feet and it worked a treat xx

Kevin Bacon is doing a good job on a the mare I look after's feet. Her feet were so cracked that the farrier warned her owners that if they didn't improve, she would struggle to make it through winter. We tried Naf profeet, with no improvement, and Kevin Bacon is now doing a good job. I will also try Farriers forumla if I can persuade the owners to buy some as I have heard very good things about it.

im using biotin and finds it works really well so thats all i have ever use. however, a woman down the farm has a tb with HIRREDOUS feet and she uses farriers formula. it works really really well on her horse but its quite expensive. but if biotin is working well then stick to it

i use aviform biodura & it wrks really well on my tbx rubbish feet. its reasonably priced & theres always 3 for 2 offer on their website! i think it works out at 20-30p per day
i hav used farriers formula before but it didnt make any differnce to her, & cost about £1/day. as said above every horse is different & its often trial & error to see which is best!xXx

Feeding BOSS and a sea weed supplement may help, too.

Mine's gone onto F4F pellets, but it's early days. Won't really know if it's helped for another 6 months I'm afraid.

I have had great results on all of mine with Newmarket Hoof Supplement. Brilliant stuff, not ridiculously expensive and has worked on my tb with awful feet who used to come back from xc with no front shoes! I now have the luxury of not having to book her in to have shoes put on after every event as her hooves are much stronger and hold the shoes better. It also increased hoof growth on my warmblood who had awful cracks in her hooves from top to bottom and they have now gone! Honestly it's amazing stuff!

Used F4F and def more hoof growth- and his coat is very shiny. Plus it's peace of mind as it gives him all vits and minerals, as often in summer he's on rations. Also he loves it and I find it much easier to make sure he eats every last bit as its in pellet form. Expensive- 30 quid ish a month but I think it's worth it.

Not honestly tried any others though...
