Which horse in front?

My friend has moved a lovely Cob up our yard and we are going out on a hack today. My horse is quite nervous in front, even when I am out with our usual crowd. I don't want to frighten her horse if mine is acting silly and spooking at everything, but I don't know if my friend will be confident going first. Any suggestions?
