Which insurance company provides the best cover, do they pay for claims quickly?
Do any of them cover vet fees upto £10000?
Thankyou!

So far I've been v happy with petplan, they've paid out and it usually takes about a month for the cheque to come though.

I am in a MASSIVE dispute with AmTrust and have involved the Financial Ombudsman, also contacting BBC Watchdog on the way they conduct their business. I will NEVER use them again! I've heard PetPlan and NFU are very good.

hope you get it sorted is it because of a claim if you don't mind me asking??

Im with AmTrust for my Comp horse & they have paid everything, have also found them super fast to pay out.
He's on Gastrogard so it costing them a fortune. They have paid out on 3 seperate claims this year for this horse.

I have my other 2 with Petplan.
The one time i have claimed with them they where a sham!! They took 3 months to pay out on they where impossible.

I'm really surprised, is it for a claim? as Amtrust have been brilliant, each time i have spoken to them they have been very helpful and understanding, i have had to claim nearly £4,500 over the last 11 months and they paid the vets within a week of each invoice being received.

Most companies seem to provide up to 5K veterinary cover for any one incident. I suppose you could enquire & they would obviously want a higher premium for greater cover.

I am with NFU & have never had any problem with any claim.

E & L have been subject of more adverse comment that any other company on this forum so read into that what you may.

I'm new to this forum lark and though i started looking for stuff on ground haynets i've ended up here - after losing track of how much time i've spent reading everything!!

I was so surprised by someone being unhappy with Amtrust that it's moved me to make my first ever post.

I had a look at other messenger posts to see if I could find out why they were unhappy. There were posts on irresponsible horse dealers and a horse with kissing spine and sacroiliac joint pain. Is it the same horse?

Anyway, I've been with Amtrust Equine for 2 years now and think they are really brilliant. They were so helpful when I had to make a claim and even paid for MRI - and really quickly :-)

P.S. does anyone know anything about ground haynets and if they are any good? (for 2 barefoot horses living out)

AmTrust insured my horse which they had previously insured before with a previous owner!!!!! Say no more!

My other horse was insured with them and I couldn't fault them. They quickly paid out on a claim for a viral infection and were great. In this instance they've been a complete sham!
