Hello everyone,
I know you are supposed to put the heaviest horse on the right but I'm having trouble working out which one is heaviest.
I plan on travelling a 15.1 dales x treckhaner and a 16.1 TB (NH chunkier type) together. But I don't trust the weigh tape and am umming and ahhing about which is actually heavier. Although the Dale's x is chunkier he is also a hand shorter so I'm confused. Please help.

I wouldn't worry if there isn't much between them and unless you have a very old trailer, the suspensions these days are so much better, that it doesn't matter if the heavier horse is on the left.

Charlie and Bon are very close in weight, I'd expected as a solid 15hh cob charlie would weigh more than 16hh sports horse Bon but actually when we weigh bridged them charlie was about 20kg heavier. However by that time precedent had been set and charlie travels on the right. There's no noticable difference driving except charlie trying to kick the trailer to bits in objection to being on the "wrong" side so I'd say they'll be closer than you expect and the TB may well be the heavier of the two

Thank you both so much. I suspect my TB is heavier as he is so ripped with muscle and such a chunky monkey for a TB. It's quite a new trailer too. Thanks for putting my mind at rest 😌 💕
