Thinking of buying one...for a 11hh pony. Just for a few pony nuts to keep her nibbling away, alongside her haylage net. any suggestions, before I buy the wrong one!

My boys have Snak-a-balls. It didn't take them long to work out how to get the treats out, and they have great fun batting them around the stables. They're quite sturdy as my big fellow has plates of meat feet, and regularly stomps on his - it's still going strong!

Mine has a decahedron. It's brilliant, my boy learnt how it worked VERY quickly, and it has stood up to 9 months of being booted around without a scratch so far.

I had a snak a ball for my pony and he loved it kept him busy for ages, when we moved yards though his new stable is on a slight slope to the back and found it just constantly rolled to the back and ended up all in his bed which meant he just left it. So bought him a decahedron one so it doesn't roll as much but he still has great fun with it.

So would recommend one of them if your stable isn't totally flat they have bigger holes as well so you can put stuff like carrot in and they still take just as long if not longer for them to get the food out.

I used to have a Snak a Ball until mine broke hers - I think she must have rolled on it or something as i found it shattered in her stable. It was a bit shocking to be honest as it had loads of screws in it... so I spent hours going through her bed with a fine tooth comb making sure I had everything. Thankfully she hadn't hurt herself on it, but I have to say after seeing how they are made I wouldn't ever leave one unattended in the stable again. She is only 15.2h and a medium build, so I was quite surprised at how easily it broke and all the sharp bits inside.

I haven't replaced it with anything yet, but I think I would probably get a Dodecahedron one as I believe that is just moulded, rather than screwed together, so a bit safer. Shame as the Snak a Ball takes them longer to get through their sweets than any of the other balls, but I just wouldn't be happy using one again :-(

So just a word of warning to you all!

Love my equine dodecahedron it's really sturdy and contains no scres or anything like that and I find it better than the completely round ones as it takes them a bit longer get the food out (especially good for clever ponies!!!)

Jake my old loan pony had a snack ball, he loved bashing it against the stable wall!

I like the decahedrons but having seen one of the liveries with hers today i'm not so sure about them! Her clever horse had plonked his in the water bucket so it had filled with water and all the feed inside was now a mushy mess, the only way to get this out is through a tiny hole with one finger. Needless to say she now still has mouldy food in there and it's useless. Snack balls have a larger hole to place feed in and it comes out multiple smaller ones so is much easier to clean if needed.
