Im looking into another insurance company and as there are so many out there I dont know which one to go for. Also do you have to deciare sorry sp all imforation that has happern to your horse?? Hes 18 now and havnt had any big injurys goes off to touch wood very quickly!! I havnt claim for a while either. Also I havnt changed his value since I got him so thats 10 years ago not that any sort of sum of money would ever replace him!!

I have heard some good things with Petplan and Nfu and some bad with both. Any ideas would be much appeaticd.

I've always used South Essex Insurance Brokers and cannot recommend them highly enough. However your horse would be classified as a veteran so not sure how keen they would be to take him. My horse is 17 and his premium went up quite a lot this year. I have reduced his value which has reduced the premium. I'm only really concerned about the vet's fees not his value.

With the NFU for approaching 10 years and don't have a single bad word to say about them. Last year they dealt with Five claims ongoing at the same time for my girl with lameness in all four legs and her deformed back and dealt with everything sympathetically and professionally.

Wouldn't even think of insuring with anyone else - both my other horses are still insured with them and their premiums didn't go up despite them paying out a total of £16k for my mare in vets fees and her loss.

I have been with Carriage House since 1995 - they are very good at explaining your cover and also cover for commercial use. (I have a driving horse)

Looks like I'll be making plenty of phone calls then tommorrow. I think I sure get a quato off NFU,Scottish and pet plan. Now I just have to rember what extracy I need cover for and what Q's to ask too. Would a vet report be need for covering? Ive got one which is so old!! Also what are theses like with covering on tack per item as Ive got two saddle and the insurance Im with now I had to fight to get both added on as both are made to measure ones? Thanks again

petplan are fab, sadly had 5 huge claims for the same horse all within 13 months!! I can't fault them but I suspect my name is probably on their blacklist now

i was with petplan for my 18 yr old but i cancelled and i save the money myself now as they start making ridiculous exclusions on problems he never had or ever claimed for

Uhhm Im am with E&L at the moment. People who got horse's over 17 etc what kind of cover have you got for yours?? Im kind of getting confused over the coverling as I know some company will do difference cover.
