Hi, I know this question must have been asked hundreds of times before but I'm in the process of purchasing a ponio and have been getting insurance quotes with Petplan being outrageously expensive although I'm aware they are very very good as used them with my dog until he sadly died in April.

NFU seem to be next best at £30 ish per month then I've had a quote of £198 for the year from Towergate Aiua (Insure my horse.co.uk) and from Allianz Insurance PLC via a binding authority with Kbis ltd its £25 per month.

So just wondered what else is out there, I've never heard a good word about E&L and wouldn't touch them if they were the last insurer on the planet.

Any other suggestions and info greatly appreciated.
Thanks

With KBIS very good, impressed with them, and nice as speak to the same girls......also,your premium goes on a'no claim basis'!(My monthly amount has dropped as not claimed!)
NFU came out on top in a survey a few years ago,as where I brought my cob,the dealer had been involved in putting a survey together!
PETPLAN where brillant when I claimed ££££££'s for my TB mare and we're talking alot of money!

You will find most people on here are insured with NFU!

Both of our boys are with South Essex Insurance Bureau. They didn't query a fairly big claim for one of them a few weeks ago and paid up within 2 wks.

I have mine insured with petplan as they were very good when i had to claim for erik. Plus if you insure them before the horse is 16 they cover them for vets fees up until they are 25.

I'm insured with petplan as i have veterans and the petplan are the only company to cover for illness as well as injury and thank god i am as i think we are about to have my lads tendon scans, this will be the only time he has seen the vet for anything other then routine vaccines for nearly 8 years!

I've had experiences with Petplan and NFU and both have been excellent. You can get the premiums cheaper with Petplan if you have a high excess - it pays for itself if you can go a year without a claim.

Maybe worthwhile speaking to your vets as to their experiences with insurance companies and they will know the good payers etc.
