which is better and warmer?

a banked up straw bed coming just over half the stable or a non banked straw bed almost up to the door?

just wonded cos its so cold at the mo and i wonded what would be better to do.

I do a banked thick bed covering about 3/4 of a very big stable..but do leave about a metre + along the front for hay/water

Would of thought a shorter but thicker banked up bed at the back for him to stand/lay in. I have a first foot without beding but he kicks it every where any how.... When i open the door a bale worth falls out on me...

I doubt it's going to make that much difference in all honesty - if you're worried about warmth then an extra rug, blanket or stable bandages (providing you're competent at bandaging) are going to be more effective x x x

A bed up to the door definately - drafts have nasty habits of creeping under doors, and if you can bank it up the door you will have a much more snug little horse.
