There are a few on market, Equiboot, Easyboot and those other green rubbery ones I've seen that cover the most of the foot....and no doubt many more.

Its not for riding in, just a first aid essential if I ever need to keep his foot clean due to injury/infection etc.

Its for a 15.3 WB/TB, with pretty average size feet (not like dinner plates or abnormally small).

Any recommendations or size suggestions would be much appreciated.

bought an equi boot and it literally stayed on for seconds -

gaffer tape over a plastic bag covered nappy is just about the onyl way to go.

Thanks, I did ponder on this idea, as I know a lady on the same yard does this but in the wet splodgy weather I doubt my nappy change skills (in this case zero experiance

) would be of any good and may leak.

I suppose I could give it a ago, however I'll blame you guys if I get spotted buying nappies during my lunchtime by fellow work colleagues!

agree, we use the nappy (newborn will be fine) then wrap over with vetwrap, then duct/gaffer tape (the broader the better). This stands up to turnout as well (on most).

for abcesses we put on magnesium sulphate before the happy. F x

I do nappy, vet wrap, an old sock, plastic bag and then tape. For abcesses I put animalintex on foot first to draw out the pus.

My boys are the most accident prone horses in the world so I have gotten pretty good at changing poultices on my own and can do it in about 2 mins.

The Eaziboot is brilliant but not in wet weather. I've had two fall completely apart, the material bit from the rubber bit. They are great if keep the horse in doors but then again so is plastic bags and gaffer tape.
